How to use this tier list hub

100 Days on Chunk is a floating-chunk survival game: you expand biomes, wall up before night, manage hunger, and push toward Day 100 while hunter raids and bosses threaten the base. Class choice changes how fast that loop feels. This hub explains our ranking criteria and points you to the detailed boards.

Start with the full class tier list for October 2026 placements (S through C). For raw costs and ability text, open All Classes or the Classes Hub. New players should skim Getting Started before spending Gems on an S-tier pickup they are not ready to use.

Ranking criteria

We weigh classes for public and private survival runs, not PvP arenas. The questions behind each letter grade:

  1. Mid- and late-game speed — Does the class shorten nights, resource cycles, or boss prep once you leave the tutorial days?
  2. Combat value — Dodge, damage spikes, starting weapons, and how well you handle zombies, hunters, and bosses.
  3. Economy and crafting — Faster chopping, cheaper crafting gates, or hunger relief that frees time for building walls and crafting biome chunks.
  4. Cost efficiency — Gems (or Robux for Engineer) spent versus power gained. A free class can still be C-tier if it falls off hard; a 150 Gem class can be S-tier if it carries every phase.
  5. Skill floor — How punishing the class is for beginners who still die to void gaps and unlit nights.

Placements reflect the live meta as of October 2026. Patches that change starting kits, Gem prices, or boss tuning can reshuffle the board—recheck after notes on the Updates Hub.

Snapshot: October 2026 class tiers

TierClasses
SNinja (150 Gems), Vampire (300 Gems)
AEngineer (399 Robux), Lumberjack (150 Gems)
BChef (75 Gems), Medic (75 Gems)
CExplorer (Free)

Full rationale for every placement lives on the class tier list page, including when to buy Ninja before Vampire and why Engineer stays A despite the Robux gate.

Tier letters explained

  • S-tier — Best default spends for players who want strong combat and mobility across the whole 100-day route. Worth saving Gems for.
  • A-tier — Excellent specialists. Engineer accelerates crafting gates; Lumberjack snowballs wood and expansion. Slightly more situational than S, still excellent.
  • B-tier — Budget stabilizers. Chef and Medic fix early hunger and healing pain so you can learn nights without rage-quitting.
  • C-tier — Serviceable free starter. Explorer teaches the game; replace it once you have Gems.

We do not maintain separate weapon or pet tier lists yet—the class board is the ranking players search for most. If Freshly Cooked Games adds more paid rows, they will appear here and on the class page.

How tiers connect to real runs

A tier letter is not a win button. S-tier Ninja still needs walls before night, cooked food, and a plan for Bones before you craft boss chunks. Vampire’s blood strike does not place lightning rods safely for you—put rods away from the heart of the base or you invite strikes into your storage.

Use tiers to decide what to buy, then use guides to decide what to do:

Gem planning with the tier list

If you have zero Gems, play Explorer and complete Badge quests, crates, and run payouts described on the Codes Hub (no active codes as of Oct 2026, but Gem sinks and sources are covered there). At 75 Gems, B-tier Chef or Medic smooths learning. At 150 Gems, Ninja is the usual S-tier pickup; Lumberjack is the A-tier economy alternative. Vampire at 300 Gems is the premium combat spike. Engineer bypasses Gems entirely for 399 Robux if you prefer crafting discounts and a starter crossbow.

Rank smart, spend once, and invest the time you save into base layout and day-multiplier totems.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best class in 100 Days on Chunk?

For October 2026, S-tier is Ninja and Vampire. See the full class tier list for costs and reasons.

How is this tier list ranked?

We rank for survival pace, combat value, crafting or hunger utility, and Gem or Robux efficiency in public runs—not for PvP.

Should beginners buy S-tier immediately?

Learn on Explorer first via Getting Started. B-tier Chef or Medic at 75 Gems is a kinder first purchase if early runs feel brutal.
